Chickens.

So, instead of getting ducks like we had originally planned, we are getting chickens! The chickens will require less maintenance (they don't need a pool to be changed every day) and they can eat more kitchen scrapes (always a plus). We sat down and look up some coop ideas and came up with something that will be a combination of these two coops:

Our coop will have wheels (so we can move it around the yard to share the chicken manure love) and it will have to be cute of course!

We also bought chickens today! They will be in on April 1st and I can't wait to meet them and post pictures for all to see. We decided on two different breeds, White Silkies and Silver Laced Wyandottes (pronounced "wine dots"). We will be getting two of each!

 White Silkie

Silver Laced Wyandotte

I can't wait to get them and watch them grow! Pictures of cute little baby chicks coming soon...

Today is the big day for the little chicks!! Hope they are all girls. Maybe one of them could be named Kathy seems like my name is not cool enough any more to name a child that so I will take a chicken...Maybe Mama Kathy or Little Kathy or Saint Kathryn I know now I'm really pushing it :)
